Stadtansichten Europa 1490
Die Stadtansichten aus der Nürnberger Werkstatt von Michael Wohlgemut (1434-1519) entstanden als Holzstiche zwischen 1487 und 1492 und wurden nach Druckfertigung von Hand koloriert. Sie wurden für die Weltchronik (1493) von Hartmann Schedel verfertigt, erschienen später aber auch als Loseblätter. Zur Galerie

Die Stadtansichten von Franz Hogenberg (1535-1595) und Georg Braun (1541-1622) geben nicht nur das Stadtbild der Zeit prägnant wieder. Stadtansichten Europa und Übersee 1650
Die "Topographia Germaniae" von Matthäus Merian dem Älteren (1593-1650) erschien in 16 Bänden zwischen 1642 und 1654 in Frankfurt a.M. Die Stiche von Merian sind für viele Städte die erste naturgetreue Abbildung. Historic Maps zeigt 460 seiner Stadtansichten aus Deutschland, Holland, Schweiz, Österreich, Tschechien und Polen. Stadtansichten 19. Jahrhundert
Dampfschiff und Eisenbahn erleichterten im 19. Jahrhundert das Reisen enorm. Deswegen wuchs auch die Zahl der Städteansichten stark an. Sie fanden Eingang in Zeitschriften und Bücher, und viele neue Verlage lebten vom steigenden Interesse der Menschen an fremden Gegenden. Zur Galerie

Panoramen der Schweiz
Von 1827 bis 1832 bereiste Delkeskamp die Schweiz und verfertigte das Relief des klassischen Bodens der Schweiz mit den Urkantonen. Ab 1845 arbeitete er an einem Panorama der gesamten Schweiz von Annecy bis St. Gallen. Zur Galerie

Matthaeus Merian the Elder's (1593-1650) "Topographia Germaniae" was published in 16 volumes between 1642 and 1654 in Frankfurt on the Main. For many cities, Merian's engravings represent the very first lifelike depictions of their cityscape.
