Hier finden Sie 117 Landkarten aus "Meyer's Grossem Hand-Atlas aller Theile der Erde" von 1849 mit Nachträgen bis 1856. Ein besonderer Schwerpunkt liegt auf Europa (73 Karten) und USA (39 Karten). Sie wurden von Hauptmann Carl Christian Franz Radefeld (1788-1874) gezeichnet.
Die Karten der Staaten der USA sind zu 70% Kopien aus dem "Universal Atlas" von Tanner/Mitchell aus dem Jahre 1830 und erschienen außerdem 1860 gesondert im "Grossen und vollständigen Auswanderungs-Atlas für Nordamerika".
Wir empfehlen das Format A2 oder A1, um alle wunderbaren Details gut erkennen zu können. Die Qualität der Scans erlaubt sogar eine Vergrößerung bis zu A0.
Meyer's Maps of the World 1849
Here you find 117 maps from "Meyer's Small Atlas of all Parts of the World", dated 1849, with supplements published until 1856. There is a special focus on Europe (73 maps) and the United States (39 maps). The maps were engraved by Captain Carl Christian Franz Radefeld (1788-1874).
About 70 per cent of the maps of the United States are copies from the "Universal Atlas" of Tanner/Mitchell from 1830, which also were published in the "Great and Complete Emigration-Atlas for North America" in 1860.
We recommend a printout in A1 or A2, in order to be able to enjoy all the wonderful details. The quality of the scans allows printouts even up to size A0 (84x120 cm).
